I'll try and describe him best I can without blowing him up...there's several out there that have hunted with Rage. Feel free to give a description of his hunting style here if you want.
Best way to describe him is...He's just a good solid Coondog that starts hunting as soon as his feet hit the ground,he strikes coon as he comes to them. doesent blow through the country before he starts hunting.
Opens as soon as he smells a coon and barks here and there on track with a good bawl mouth. I myself have never seen him not finish a track he's started no matter how long it takes or how deep he has to go to do it.
Has a good locate,trees up on the tree. He don't blow the top out of the tree, he's just a good steady tree dog that once he trees there's no need of running to him because he's not going anywhere, he'll be there with that steady chop no matter how long it takes you to get there.
I've sat here and thought about it and I can honestly say that in all the times I've hunted him I've only seen him not have the coon a handfull of times. He's very accurate.
I've never seen him mess with any off game.
Rage is not a dog that could have probly ever won the world hunt, but he is a dog you can take out any night under any conditions and he's going to show you a coon.
He was scratched for fighting once in August of 2009,I don't know the circumstances of this as it was before I got him. I will say I have never had any trouble out of him and have trained several of mine and my buddy's pups with him and seen them jump all over his back around the tree.
I think that is a fair description of Rage, if anyone that has ever hunted with him thinks any different your welcome to post it here...Good or Bad.
