2015 Bluetick Days

Thanks to Tim, Hancock Co. CHC & all the Tell City guys that put us in the woods. Without all the guides, a hunt like this cannot be held in a given area. Also, a big thanks to the kitchen staff for keeping us fed. The leaves were thick, but the winners came back with 'realistic' scores to make the hunt fair for everyone to have a shot at winning.

Thanks to Todd & Corey for coming to take care of pics & taking hunt info back with them. I'm sure many got their ukc questions answered while visiting with them. I know I did & Todd checked on some papers that I was waiting for & was able to tell me they were sent on Monday & they were waiting for me when I got home.

BIG thanks to Darren & all that helped take memberships, entries or did any of the 'legwork' for the 3 days we were there.

Thanks to 'Trub' for guiding, Butch & Charles for 2 nights of hunting on a senior cast.

And last, but not least, THANKS to all BLUETICK hunters & other breed hunters that came to enter, hunt, show or just BS for the 3 days we were in your area. I hope the non-blue hunters appreciate the money presented to them for winning their division on Fri./Sat. nights. Don't think any other breed association makes this available to all the hunters present. We had hunters from MN. to Penn. to Florida to TX. present & most stayed for the whole weekend. Might not have big #'s on Friday, but they stuck around for Sat. which is usually not the case.

As Emet used to say 'Nuff said, besides my 'typing finger' is getting tired!!! Take care, Ron.

Congrats to all the winners

I really enjoyed the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS and the HALL OF FAME AWARDS.

It was very emotional for some there. It's really amazing how these old Blue Dogs bring some of us together and how years can go by and the memories never forgotten. I can't really put it into words how I felt seeing the tears and hearing the words expressed from one old timer to another of days past. I have tremendous respect for the old timers that are still out there blazing the trails to get to ol'Blue treed. I CONGRATULATE AND THANK ALL THOSE OLD TIMERS PAST AND PRESENT. You have helped "blaze the trail for all of us". Thank you.

Thumbs down

Even though I didn't win some of my dogs and dogs I raised won their cast. We had a really good time with a really good hunt. Great hospitality. There is no one thing that stands out but if I had to pick it would be when we came up early on Tuesday and Wednesday we had Trub and Tim Cecil helping us get in the woods for some pleasure hunting. Thanks to all ,good to see all ,great weekend. See all at Mississippi!

A HUGE thanks to Hancock County CHA, Tim Cecil, Jack McCaslin, Heath Howe, Butch Glass and all the ladies and gentlemen in the kitchen and working the grounds. The vendors were awesome and had everything a hunter would need.

A special note of thanks to Anthony Sturgill from VA who has always assisted me in taking entries. And to my wife and all the other members who helped take memberships and entries.

There was no shortage on guides and everyone was drawn out and going to the woods in 30 minutes after deadline.

The Bench Show Judges and Master of Hounds did very well both days.

The show Friday had 32 dogs and 99 in the hunt. Saturday brought over 40 to the show counting duals and pairs and 87 in the hunt.

We swore in our new Sec/Tres Chad Ludwigson from Wisconsin. Ron is working with him to get him up and rolling. We will be online for memberships, bluebook purchases and ads soon and hopefully also voting for all members online.

There will be ballots in the mail soon for at least one by-law update. That is changing the language for high scoring dogs at the Grand American, Autumn Oaks, Winter Classic and World Hunt to meet UKC placement procedures.

You as members have had the pleasure of having one of the most honest men I know of being your Sec/Tres for the past four years. Ron Behne has been awesome and I have had the pleasure of calling him my friend for many years. Please take the time to thank him for his work the last years. Your money could not have been safer.

There is a committee out now being headed up by Robbie Brooks and one member from each zone to check on trophies. This is our biggest expense in the events.

A big congrats goes out to our lifetime winners and hall of fame winners. I tried to make this a special event as I think they deserve it when you win an honor like that. It was a special moment.

Congrats to the Queen/King of the show and hunt! Brad Hanson, Gerald Black, Steve Carter and Roy and Timmy V. Clifton!!!!

Please check out all the winners on bluetickbreedersofamerica.com or on UKC Coonhound page.

Darren

PS. Thanks to Jack Smith and Wayne Hooker for taking my front door parking spot!!! LOL

Digger10

Glad to see you back on here this morning (must be back at work) to post some remarks. Been a pleasure to work with you my friend. See you in a couple weeks at the zone hunt.

RQE qualifiers- don't forget to send $25 to Travis before the quarter finals to be eligible for the World Hunt pot or at least the High Scoring Male/Female award money. Take care, Ron.

Bluetick Days was great. I enjoyed it. First time I ever won the golf outing at that event. But then again all I had to do was beat a kid that never played golf (Corey). lol

Congrats on a great event guys. Glad to help.
