Can a handler with draw a dog that is not handled? 4 dog cast dog a, b, c , d are struck dog a is treed alone right handed dog b and c are treed after dog a tree is dead back behind the cast. Dog d is still trailing. We go to dog a and handler of dog d says he with draws. Which will keep dog a leash locked back to b and c. Doesn't sound right to me but I could be wrong.

I don't think it's actually in writing rather a dog has to be on a leash to be withdrawn but I'm almost certain It can be. One good example would be if your dog is an excessive distance away and instead of taking your hour to retrieve your dog and holding the cast back you tell the rest of the cast to go ahead "I'm withdrawing my dog". I don't see where there would be anything wrong with that.

How do you suppose UKC. could keep someone from pickin up their marbles and goin home? No sense in an unenforceable rule, theres enough of those already.

You can withdraw or scratch your dog anytime you want...there is no rule regarding a handler not being able to withdraw his dog for some certain reason or situation.

Edit: oops...except the fighting thing.

The only time you can't withdraw is when you attempt to keep a dog from being scratched from fighting.

No Mr. Beckham dog a won which was my dog but this to me could be used as a buddy system. Wasn't complaining just want to know the rules thanks for your concern.]
