. Your female is still young no hurry. If she gets chewed up by a coon or another hound you could waste six months easy. I like to start two at a time cause if yours comes in heat you've got another one to hunt. If your female trees a coon take her home put her up. Then get out the other one. If one is messin up out there start takin out the other one they pick up on this pretty fast. You don't need to get them running off game you'll have plenty of bad habits to break don't add another to your list. Be careful with the shock collar don't shock her to pieces if you don't know excactly what she's runnin. I've seen guys shock them thinking there running off game when they already located on trees. It makes me sick. If there locating trees there either running coons or a bobcat. When the moon is on the rise from quarter to full coons will tap alot more trees not a good time to hunt a young dog unless your hunting around feeders they can still be tricky to tree especially if overhunted in that area. A coon number one predator is an owl on bright nights usually the bigger coons are moving and can be tough to tree. I'm trying to put fifteen years of pup training into fifteen sentences I hope this helps u out.
