If u are talking about the 3225 model its the best you can get and sport dog stands behind their product. The 2 mile range we all know is a lie but u will get a half mile out of it

I wonder which one is the most preferred the 3225 or the 2525 they both state 2 mile range, is the only difference the style of the hand held part.

I really like my 3225. It don't get 2 miles but it gets when I need it.

Has anyone tried the 2525 pro hunter it looks a lot bigger and maybe easier to use.

.

The key to how easy the 3225 is to use is the number of dogs your going to program. I think the programing for two dogs is about perfect as you have the toggle switch up for one dog and down for another. Then you have three buttons which is one for continuous, one for monetary and one for tone or vibrate. The more dogs you add and it gets a little complicated if you don't use it often. But everything is color coded and that does keep it easy.

In the last year I have had 5 2525 handhelds fail, the toggle switch stops working and you end up correcting the wrong dog, I have also had 2 of the 3225 units with the same switch fail I am currently on my 2nd handheld have only used it twice so far without any issues, I've been using sportdog for nearly 15 years without any issues. I will say that they have great customer support but their products are going to crap!!!

For that matter if you're looking I will make you a great deal on my unit with 2 collars, one collar is brand new off warranty probably ran 6 times the other is 8 months old, whole system is still under warranty till November. I'm going with Tri-Tronics/Garmin.
