Kennel clubs

I never really much cared what kennel club I was hunting in. I appreciate the fact that I am able to see how my dog stacks up against other hounds.

You hear so often UKC guys refuse to enter other kc hunts and the same for the other kennel clubs toward UKC.

This sport isn't growing and it would be within our best interest to support them when we can.

None of the kennel clubs will make a man money, maybe 1 out of 500 make a dime at this sport. You hear many say I won't hunt for a yellow slip of paper. Well my friend you are hunting for the wrong reasons if you don't just like the sport.

Money and large purses where money is on the line has hurt this sport not helped it. The average hunter is just that, average. Take them out of the equation and who do you have supporting the kennel clubs?

We have. A lot of average hunters around here. Half of WILL NOT show up at a pkc hunt at all. The other WILL NOT grace the doors of a UKC for anything in this world. Im bout sick of it. Beats all I ever saw. The small clubs are the heart of the KC's and we cant support them. I hate it but I been trying to bring em together for 15 yrs. Hardly a time the clubs doors have opened in that time that I was not there. Gets old when people cant help out.. Folks just dont get it I guess. Act like their time is more important than anybody else's. May be time for em to learn. When the small hunts stop. Want be long till the big ones do. I wish everyone would just put everything aside and support them all. Its not going to happen though.

People get on this message board and find out everybody else has a coon dog that never misses the coon, never runs a deer, never trees a possum, never trees in a hole and is 1st and 1st regardless of the competition. Hard to compete with that. I have never and will never own a dog of that caliber. Sounds to me like the average hunter is throwing money away to try don't it ? Why play a game you already know you cannot win ?
