Boss Hotspot 3D

I'm getting ready to order a Boss light. I am considering the soft cap with the hard liner, however I have always used a bump cap. Any opinions good or bad?

Thanks

Folks I have been a sunfire/sunspot fan for years. I got one last Friday and love it. I actually use the green more than the white light.

I originally ordered the soft cap with liner but when i got it i saw that the soft cap is rivoted to the liner so the cap cant be replaced. (not easily anyway). I always got a new soft cap every couple yrs when i was using them with the belt light because they would get nasty from sweatin. Sent the soft cap back and went with bump cap for this reason.

I heard guys discussing these new soft/hard caps last night. But my question would be, are they hotter than blazes in the summer??? The bump caps are ventilated and are not sitting directly on your head. So air can still get in. These soft caps with hard liners, look to me like they would not only wrap your head, it would also insulate it???

.

My opinion is the Black Bump Cap works better for me, for the reasons you mentioned deschmidt27. The suspension sits on my head with some air around it.

I'm not sure what caplight you got,,,but,,,I got mine from sunfire, and the hard liner comes out very easy,,there is nothing holding the hard liner in place except the cap itself!,I've had my hard liner out many times on warm nights,m,just using the cap itself

I got the HOTSPOT 3D and the battery pack and the light are rivoted through the softcap into the liner for support. I've never seen a sunfire so it must be made different. Bruce can correct me on this if i'm wrong. The original post was about getting a HOTSPOT 3D on a bump cap or soft cap so i wanted them to know that i went with the bump cap for that reason.

Bruce have you ever tried to mount the light to just a soft cap?
I hate bump caps and the hard liner is hot. I might try to modify it on my own in the future.
