Last week I took a very enjoyable trip to Walker Days, in Auburn, Ind. with all my friends --- just me. Ha!Ha! While there I was ask to judge the Friday show ( Surprised ) but I really had fun. Friday night I was able to take a hunt which we enjoyed.

The following few pictures are some old pictures of a couple old but good hounds that my brother owned. My brother was 18 years older than me. We were the only two. The couple pictures that I have posted is ole Pete and Ring. Pete was a red hound with a white ring around his neck with 4 white stocking feet. Ole Ring was a Bluetick (Grade). Even though the coon population was few, my brother had good luck with these two hounds when it came to catch Mr. Ringtail.

I have a few more old pictures for the next time, I have one of a couple red dogs but having a hard time finding it.

1. Here I am helping Dad feed a couple Fox hounds and Pete. Dad loved his fox hunting, I liked to hear dogs tree instead of running all night.

2. Me and Ring just enjoying life on a bench in front of our country store. No Pressure, or stress. HA!HA!

3. Picture taken at my Uncles, Ole Pete was always by my side when he was not hunting. I'm ready even if I don't get to go.

4. Me and ole Pete with a fox hound pup. The house behind me is where my mom and dad first lived, but later became my brothers.

Hopefully your hunts have been very enjoyable, Be Happy, Healthy. and most of all safe!!!

I really wish I had pics of some dogs I had as a kid. We really weren't big on pictures then I really didn't have a use for them until I started playing around on this board. LOL
But to help carry your thread with some pics other than your own here's a pic of my Tennessee Brindle (squirrel dog) ARC Diamond Ben. This pic was just taken this past winter.
The pup in the backround is a walker pup I'm just starting now. (Ridge Runnin Reba) I like to take pups to the woods with Ben when there just learning to get to the woods because he likes pups and he teaches them to get out there a few hundred yards without leavin the country.

Price...Christiansburg, Va. ....putting two and two together, I think you might have judged and was master of hounds at the Maryland State Championship hunt back in the late 80's???? I seem to remember something about a "long drive"????
If so, we met once though I doubt you remember. Here is the dog I was hunting back then. Nite Champion Pax River Ruby....

Do you ever sit down and wonder why you do certain things or why you make certain choices. Why did you decide to hunt certain breeds of dogs. I told my dad that I would like to have a coonhound pup, well dad told me if I was to get a pup it would have to be registered, so I started looking in Full Cry, I wanted a Walker pup and there was 3 reasons why.

1. My dad had Walker fox hounds at the time and I loved the looks.
2. W.L. Davis had a single registered english dog, Black and White, with pumpkin seeds over the eyes that I loved. He was and outstanding hound and he had that Walker color.
3. A Walker hound in North Carolina Named Doe Creek Spot owned by Mr. J.C. Ingram, I hunted an English dog for Willie against him and he was good. Tuts Tillie owned by Tut Loor was also out of that cross, I think there was another one call Polly from that cross. A family of good dogs.

So after a little search I found a female in Honesville, Pa. owned by Mr. Frank Oakley called Oakleys Hillcrest Lady. Lady's Sire was Motleys Missouri Major, The dam was Bixlers Sunny Sally, Forresters Bell , Indiana Boone Boy and on back some of Vaughns Arkansas Blue.

The Sire was Three Rivers Mike owned by, Graydon Stoddard of Sidney ,N.Y. He was out of Cherokees Big Bill, on back Fall Creek Ripper, Red Liquor, White River King, White River Rowdy and White River Joe.

The female I got I named her Lou, With the help of Willie Davis we became friends with John Sauer in Richmond Va.He had a young direct son of Finley River Chief that I bred her to.

Old Lou looked a lot like Prices Princes Ann.

This picture below Price's Princess Ann the female I bred to Sauers Sidwinder the male out of old Chief. Siderwinder later had his named changed.

Bugle Ann a litter mate to Princess

I then bred Princess to Old Ranger that was owned by Roy B. Miller,jr. of Blacksburg Va., A good cross. The following is one out of the two litters.

y brother Coy Price and his son Glen with Old Rawhide from the above cross. Rawhide was a pleasure to hunt and the colder the weather got the better he was.

A SURPRISE

This Picture was taken at the UKC World in Mt. Gilead, Ohio a few years back.
To my right. Bill Fennette, from I think Maine, Barry Halter from Indiana, and the lady at that time was Joyce Allen, now she is known as Joyce Little a lifetime friend.
