Coonhunters that had Lasik eye surgery

If you had Lasik eye surgery do you think it made your coon hunting experience better, worse, or no difference? I'm sick of wearing glasses and having them fog up all the time when I'm hunting. I'm seriously considering having the surgery. Any input would be appreciated.

My mom and aunt both had it done,,neither one coon hunters, that would be the day,,,lol,,,but both had terrible vision,,and now both have excellent vision,,my mom did have to go back in about a year later and have her eyes zapped, because her vision was getting alittle blurry, zapping the eyes only takes afew minutes and is painless,,but since then, she has had no problems and still has perfect vision,,good luck ...

Best gift you can ever give yourself.

I had mine done about 10 yrs ago and absolutely love it. No more foggy glasses, don't have to worry about sweat running over your lenses, or the rain. And when you'd fall in the woods and your glasses go flying that really sucks. Best thing you can ever get done.

Folks LASIK is a great thing but remember it is surgery. There are risks involved. Over the last 20 years I have had hundreds of patients have it done. Two of my boys have had lasik. The most important thing is getting an experienced, qualified surgeon. These commercials advertising lasik for $299 an eye I would run as fast as I could the other way. The surgeons that specialize in refractive surgery are not cheap. There is a reason for this.. The good ones keep up on technology and invest in the latest generation of lasers. There is a difference. Also the newer procedure is known as intra lasik. With this procedure a laser is used to make the flap. It is much more precise and consistent and safer. The older way is using a blade to make the flap. This is a good procedure but be sure your surgeon uses new blades with each eye and has done a lot of them. There are risks involved ranging from Infections to blindness. I'm just saying do your research and don't cheap out. Vision is a precious gift and you only get one set of eyes. Another thing is to be sure the health of you eyes is excellent. Not everyone is a candidate for LASIK. Other conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration are some reasons you may not be a candidate. If you decide to have it done do your research and choose your surgeon based on results and experience rather than cost.

The very last person that should ever get LASIK eye surgery is a coon hunter. Total conflict of interest. When all those coons turn into squirrel nests and tree knots there are gonna be a lot of dogs for sale on the classifieds. Lol !!!! 😃

I had it done 24 years ago. No regrets. I can still pass the DOT eye exam without any correction.
