Anybody used this for whip worms and how much you give your hound.

I have used it and don't like it at all. Safeguard horse wormer is the same active ingredient but stronger concentration. I give grown dogs 100 pound dose 3 days in a row . This has worked well for me.

panacur

Used for years in paste form. Get the 1250 lb. tube & give a mature dog the thickness of the spin-up blue ring for 3 days in a row. Take care, Ron.

Panacur is great if used correct 1cc per 5 lbs 5 days in a row. I dnt think most vets would use it if it wasn't a good wormer. I use safe gaurd same way.

Patrick,
Panacur is a good broad spectrum wormer. We used it daily in my hospital for Giardia mostly, but it works well for whipworms too. I would recommend keeping your dogs on a monthly worming program after the initial treatment using Interceptor (Milbemycin) or Trifexis (Spinosad/Milbemycin).

Whipworms can be hard to get rid of in your kennel. Disinfecting the premises daily and keeping the feces picked up will help with breaking the cycle. Have feces examined routinely every month to every other month the first year to monitor your progress. I recommend having the feces sent to Idexx or Antech labs for more accurate testing.

Good luck!
