Drill Baby Drill ?

or should I say Fracking baby Fracking, may not be the answer to our problems.

fracking

well maybe not ! but unless we import more in got to do something. because rite now the arabs are keeping the price down just to try and put the US out of the drilling game. hope it don't work! transportation is here to stay until hell freezes over! got to have. it be by air or by rail or water by land from west coast to east coast from the gulf to Alaska! got to have some kind of fuel. until some gensis comes up with a better means of fuel for transportation we got to try and get it some way. is fracking good way! prob- not. heat for homes! factories! farmers. on! on! solor power and a few other things is great! hundreds of years to get there. jmo

I believe "IF" the Country that put a man on the moon and invented the I-Phone would stop playing politics with peoples lives and tell their corporate master (BIG OIL) no more welfare for you, then solar and wind would become an overnight success. If we don't, China, India and J-pan will leave us in the dust. JMO

As your president I will persue the Solar power and skip one day of bombing in a country that we shouldn,t be bombing and spend the 1 billion $$ on buying some fracking equipment. Even time O Pec starts to raise the price of oil I will put to work people who are on state aid and drive the oil price back down. Could this Work??

I don't think so, I don't believe fracking is the answer.
(Read above links)

It costs less than $10 per barrel to get oil out of the ground in most Middle Eastern countries, whereas production costs hover around $65 per barrel for U.S. fracked wells.

http://reason.com/archives/2014/12/...n-oil-prices-go

The Middle East can cut their price to $20 per barrel and still make money.

WE MUST INVEST IN SOLAR AND WIND TECHNOLOGY and tell the rag heads to start developing a taste for oil .

Can you then tell us what it cost to produce the same amount of energy using wind power or solar?

Solar and wind is what the great pres wasted $$$$$$$ on a few years ago for those companys to go belly up isn't it.
What has more energy a bag of wind, battery, gallon of gas or a gallon of diesel?

I don't know true facts but I heard the solar panels lose their ability to produce very quickly. A friend investigated them a few years back and found that they would not pay back the investment.

Anyone know the true facts?

J.C. my old uncle says whenever "they" figure out how to put a meter on solar power we'll have it.As for your 1st comment,I believe that failed because big oil don't want any competition,& no I ain't defendin' "Obummer"

Doesn't matter if Obama wants it or the oil companies don't. If there is money in it ,it will happen, if not, well the market will decide.

Them hybrids sure ain't the answer in my book either, but I'd use solar & wind power where coal wasn't as easy to supply,& visa-verse,there could be such a thing as we could run out,but they've cried wolf so many times it's gettin' hard to believe 'em.

LMAO, LMAO, LMAO, some of you are just tooooo funny.

I know many of you won't believe it but YES OBAMA is partly responsible for the lowering of gas prices.

It's called Economic Warfare with Russia, (remember the issue with Ukraine) lowering oil prices places Russia in a tuff spot. Oil is Russia number one export, cheap oil is part of the sanctions. It proves the futures market can be manipulated.

http://www.theguardian.com/business...rouble-currency

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-...-opponents.html

http://www.globalresearch.ca/china-...-russia/5421344

These are the tactics Ronny Reagan used in the Eighties (by the way against the Russians) , and Lil Bush used in 2008 (again the Russians), both got credit for being GREAT, BUT Obama not so much.(wonder why)?

There I go again using facts and news reports to, well read them for yourself.

Another issue where Obama is just smarter than the GOP, our crazy Governor REAL DEAL is asking to increase the gas tax. While prices are down, questions for Nathan????? Does he believe they will always be at the current rates?

http://www.cbs46.com/story/27358453...-higher-gas-tax

And NO Obama isn't my hero but I must give credit where credit is due.

Just think what would happen if obummer and his cronies would allow drilling on federal lands. He is more worried about free college and internet speeds. Only thing I give obummer and congress credit for is hindering progress that could have been made with real leadership.

Sir, bless your heart and I mean no disrespect but that's HOGWASH. (Kind-of-like hunting a Redbone)

You can have your own opinion but not your own facts. Please read up and start with James Norman book, The Oil Card.

Brian Domitrovic contributor for Forbes wrote:

The trick now, as before, would be to have fiscal policy let the real economy run by means of commitments to get taxes—and regulations—scaled back, while in concert the Fed could concentrate not on hammering unemployment down but making sure people trust the dollar.
In other words, “drill, baby, drill,” isn’t even the answer. Our crisis now, as it was in the 1970s, is not an energy crisis, but a dollar-hedge crisis. You attack that—and most successfully—by making it a profitable and sound thing to save and invest dollars in the real economy.
Expensive energy is the product a leading nation with intrusive and overburdened tax, regulatory, and currency policies. Cheap energy is the mark of a leading nation with its fiscal and monetary priorities straight.

So, let me understand your FACTs, Oil companies are producing more oil so they can lose money? Hahahaha

Late Monday morning, both benchmarks hit new six-year lows. WTI oil prices dipped as much as 5.1% to $45.90 a barrel. Brent oil prices were even more volatile, dropping 5.9% to $47.18 a barrel.

The long-suffering energy sector caused widespread losses in U.S. markets.

Alistair Winter, chief economist at the global investment bank, Daniel Stewart & Co, said: “I can see it [Brent Crude] go below $40, perhaps down to as little as $20. Marginal fields, often run by smaller companies, need around $60 a barrel for viability. But markets will already be “shorting” petroleum prices [betting on prices falling further to make profit] - and that points to bad news ahead.

Article from October:

The Permian, where U.S. drilling activity is heaviest, will be profitable for companies to drill at U.S. oil prices of $57 to $75 a barrel, depending on location, according to research from Robert W. Baird & Co. As a result, companies active there, such as Chevron Corp. , Apache Corp. and Pioneer Natural Resources Co. , are likely to keep drilling.

Marianne Kah, chief economist of ConocoPhillips, said oil prices would need to fall to $50 a barrel “if you wanted to completely halt production” of U.S. shale oil. (Nov. 5, 2014)

I will give you one guess where oil is today.

As for "NO FRACKING" Read this:
http://www.usatoday.com/story/money...acking/5726603/

HAHAHAHAHAHA
