A dogs tree style should not make a difference as long as the dog is "showing the tree". The canopy rule is for squirrel dogs not coondogs although many folks use it as their standard i dont think UKC. has ever supported it.

It is a determination made by the judge (thats why he should always be the first to the tree) but like any call the judge makes it can be questioned and voted on by the cast members.

If hes treeing and showing me which tree hes treeing on. Im good. Dont have to be a slobber slinging belly rubbing tree dog. Although I do like one like that.

The rule states that the dog must show tree he don't have to be in the tree 5ft would be ok. There is no canopy rule in UKC but allot if guys try that bull just to keep from getting minused.
