They seem to help as you practice at home. You still have to put in the work. I usually stand dog in position and then either slide the block under foot or just lift foot and replace it on block. I usually work on front feet first, will use on back feet at times if needed. I don't like to use methods that cause pain for benching.
They are placed with the high part to the rear of foot sloping down to the toes.
