Dc-30 battery change?

I put 2 new batteries in my Dc-30 collars they are the extended life batteries and charged them up the bat. Life indicator showed 50% so I left them on for 12 hrs and still said 50% so I unplugged the batteries from the collar for 30 min then they charged back up in about 3.5 hrs and the indicator still only showed 50%. Anyone have this happen before and what to do?
