I'm fairly new to the sport, so I can't say if there has ever been a registered dog that won AO, BUT, and this in just my opinion, so please don't hand me a butt chewin' for it! I feel like the best titled dog was a registered dog at some point, so an outstanding registered dog, with a little luck of the draw, could stand a chance at winning at these big hunts.

You can only hunt a dog one night at autumn oaks. It's not king or queen of hunt they win the high scoring gr nt from the final 4 is crowned National Grand Nite Champion.

Grand hunt should be elimination style.
We all know all you can do is win your cast.
Can't help it if cast 10 were in more coons.

I believe that's what they do. They take the top 16 from Friday and hunt them Saturday. Then the top 4 go back out for another round. At least that's how I understand it.

That's not true elimination. If you win your cast with plus points you should keep rolling. There should be 2 rounds Friday also.
Friday-1st round 64 casts
Friday-2nd round 16 casts
Saturday-1st round 4 casts
Final four hunt it off
On Friday you just recast out of your satellite club.
These numbers would not be exactly true, because I realize all casts
Won't have plus points. I'm just saying if your dog beats the 3 other dogs
In the cast with plus points don't send him to the house
just because they weren't hunting off feeder buckets or just in
general weren't in the coon population as some of the other casts.:

The Grand Nite winner is crowned the National Grand Nite Champion winner of Autumn Oaks. That title was created for the Grand nite winner years ago. The OVERALL HIGH scoring dog from any class is the overall winner, but he or she will not get all the hoopla that the Grand winner does, and really never has since the title was formed. Overall, the experience and fun you will have hunting any class is second to none anywhere. Don't let hunting another class stop you from coming and competeing.
