Linden PKC Hunt
I took DiamondBack Daisy and Duke down to Linden TN for the PKC hunt last night. Daisy struck quick and was bawling hard and fast. She then stopped and came back to us. I waited a few to see if she was gonna go hunt some more but she didn't and we were on the side of the road. So I withdrew her from the cast. Duke struck and was trying to locate when the 2 other dogs started treeing. I know duke and he went to check to see what all the fuss was about. He didn't lock down on the tree they were on but instead locked down on one about 30yrds away. We never even shined the tree he was on, we just leashed them and walked away? Well we went about 50yrds and cut them again, the 2 other dogs went right back to the 1st tree, and duke went on hunting again. The cast went and gathered up the 2 dogs that had re-treed, and Duke was struck in on another coon, but one of the dogs in the cast started bawling and duke came to see if he had the coon Duke was looking for. The cast waited for more than the six minutes before releasing their dogs the 3rd time. If they had there is a great chance they would have just went running back over to the same tree and been scratched. We left the woods with almost 9 minutes in the hunt. I definitely learned a lot, and any advise for the future i would appreciate it.
