Hunting Times *UKC*

When did UKC change from hunting 2 HR? I saw an upcoming event that says 1.5 HR?? If this is correct, can you have a 1 HR event. with diminishing hunting grounds, most clubs in the south can easily accomodate 1 HR but its a little harder for 2 HR.

Any thoughts from UKC on giving clubs the option to have 1 HR hunts?

Weekend Competetion Hunts besides HTX. Limiting hunting is making it harder to host UKC 2 hour hunts. Then if you have a HTX and more then 4 or 5 dogs show, then some are having to hunt the same areas.

Just a thought if UKC would be willing to have 1 hour weekend hunts?

It can't be optional. A title under a two hour time and a title under a one hour wouldn't mean the same thing. A lot can happen in an hour. There is another thread that is talking about not enough dogs showing up. I think every club has their challenge's.

Any UKC rep care to share if this idea has been pushed around? We now have he option to hunt for cash, why not have the option to have 1 HR COMPETITIVE Hunts? HTX is not the solution.

local club hunts?

Make everybody a guide in the cast?
If we're going to a "local" club hunt and live within 1 hr from it,there shouldn't be the "no place to hunt excuse" if were all guiding{if needed}
I can remember hunts being 3 hrs!!

Brad it was kicked around the first of last year in a large package proposal, but not in any form to allow a shorter time frame for a weekend hunt. They were to stay two hours, but a weekday hunt proposal was offerered, but we just haven't got real far with getting it off the ground and running. Ideas are surely welcomed, and i will be more than happy to take them forward. Pm me or email me. Thanks
