Need a new light

So getting back into hunting after having been outta hunting for 8-10 years and my old light bright eyes penetrator isn't keeping a charge. So time to buy a new one and thought I would ask opinions since light technology has changed so much. Thanks

.

I started out looking on these boards seeing alot of ppl talking about them so i decided to take a look at them and went to there website and on there it says they will give you a 30day money back guarantee if your not satisfied so hey what do i have to loose if i dont like it ill send it back and im not out anything.....i have had mine for several months now and there not getting my light back for anything ...its extremely bright and unreal how small the battery pack is the whole thing is smaller than just the switch on my older bright eyes belt light..i hunt atleast 2 or three times a week and i went the first month without charging it and you couldnt tell it had lost any brightness when i did decide to charge it...not to mention they are the best guys in the industry to deal with

If your in open country then the boss hotspot or I have heard nothing but good about the ultra!!if you are in thick. Dense low canopy woods then you need the boss triple threat. It is bright and gives you the luxury of colored LEDs which makes finding the hardest coon easier !!! Flat out bright enough to find any coon in any woods there are and best cust service IMO and I have a hotspot and I'm sure the ultra is the same way from what I here but in my country it is useless this time of year and it will flat out blind you reflecting off the canopy and under forage !!! Brightest isn't always the best IMO!!! Although I do look forward to cutting that hotspot loose this winter when the trees are bare !!!

Ultra HD has your choice of colored light, comes with 2 brightness settings. it floods the tree. I have the new Ultra, I have found most my coons with the colored light feature, mine is amber color. Brightest light I have ever owned. The Ultra HD also gives you the luxury of a colored LED and is extremely bright, very few can compare. I also own a Lazer Pro, which I like also, but is nowhere near as bright as the Ultra HD.

There are a few single LEDs out that are 100,000+ or - LUX that are super bright the Boss Hotspot has the longest brun time of any of them and Conkeys is one of the best in the Bis

I have tried using 2 pop covers on top of each other and even used sand paper on a pop cover to try and get it as dim as I would like. I have a blazer belt pack now and run a sunburst ole yellow bulb diamond head on it with a amber lens.. I put a 8 position click switch in it and its still too bright on the first click for me.

I have had bout every new led light made and aint found any that dim as low as I want.

Amen to this !!

lol,
Maybe the "brightest" will make more coon that weren't never there......appear?

I have Laser Torch Pro w/color and love it.Not the "brightest",but plenty bright when needed.I'd say best all around light.Once you learn how to use all its features.
Best service after the sale on the planet.Actually use USA made parts,so its not all CHINA.

I would go with either the Sunfire or Boss these are the best and brightest in the business and both have excellent customer support. I have personally dealt with both Bruce and Mike both guys are top notch and will go out of their way for their customers. I personally own a Sunfire and have had it well over a year with no issues at all. I usually charge my light every 5th or 6th hunt. The light has never let me down. I have never burnt it all the way out or seen it dim at all period. I have used it well over 80 hours and brought it home and left it on to burn down 12 hrs later it still had not went out or dimmed at all. It states on my light that wide open its burn time it 4 hours, I know for a fact I have burnt mine wide open longer than that while hunting. I have no experience with the newer hd version of the Sunfire light. But I do know it is supposed to be brighter than the light I have and if it is. WOW!!! a coon doesn't stand a chance. I can tell you for sure if you can't find a coon with a Sunfire Brother, it aint there... I have also seen the boss hotspot in action it is very nice light and super bright as well. In my opinion you would be more than satisfied with either of these lights and customer service it top notch with both guys GUARANTEED . Hope this helps ya......God bless

I agree most of the time a coon will look at a dimmer light. But sometimes ol Mr. Coon will not look no matter what you do. That is the reason I want the brightest on the market. To find the fur brother. I personally have found many of them when others have determined that it is not there with a dimmer light. Because of the brightness of the light it lit up the tree and you could see the coon sitting way up in the top of trees. No eyes just fur..

I also agree with that hootowlman -some just wont look , but ill take my chances of first arrival at tree for first few minutes to shine the red halo from my Laser Torch Pro Color, hit the squaller then if he dont look im gonna shift to 6th gear and try to burn the leaves off ! HA !
Marketing and technology is advancing at such a fast pace these days its almost impossible to "keep up" with the best and newest hunting gadgets/equipment. Someone is always making a brighter light ( because thats where marketing hype has went), or a faster shooting bow, etc , etc . Its not always a negative thing , sometimes it for the better. Look at how far Lights have came over the years , its just unbelievable to me really. We wonder right now how it cud get any better than the lights avail to us now but just wait 20 years ( or less) .....theres no telling what will happen !

I remember the days of having to slowly "warm" bulbs up before going wide open.........Or you'd be standing in the dark trying to change it.Be lucky to make it all night w/o going dim.

Well

You can't go wrong with any that are mention. But when u get down south where some of the trees are high as the sky u better have a bright light cause they want look and that ole moss they hide in causes fits, so why wouldn't u get the brightest. And the color light that comes is dim as u need. So I don't understand some peoples way of thinking. But hey that's why there's fords, Chevy, Toyota, dodge, etc. But trust me there's three or four great lights out there. But the sun fire is my favorite.

I remember those days to man. I have forgot many times and blown a bulb and be trying to change it in the dark. Or switch to the high side of a light to quick and pop the bulb. Also have been at the tree and my light go out or get dim. I would always pack a small flashlight just in case that happened and it got me out of a jam MANY nights. But those days are long gone.... I remember hunting many a night with a 6v light and still have one that works pretty well. Funny how those 6v lights were not very bright at all. But now a 4v led light will BURN a tree down...If I'm not mistaken the Sunfire and Hotspot are only 3.7v or something....

I compared A Sunfire and a Bright eyes side by side when I bought the Sunfire. The Sunfire was WAY brighter no comparison not even in the same ball park. But now Bright Eyes has the Flame which was put out to compete with the Sunfire and the Hotspot. It was not out when I bought my Sunfire so I don't know anything about it and haven't read much on it or seen one in action. But I'm sure it is a good light as well. Best thing to do is compare them side by side and choose one. All of them also come on a long chord so if you like a belt light you can get them as a belt light as well for the same price. I didn't care much for the cap light when I bought mine. I know if bright is what you want they don't get brighter than these lights, That I have seen anyway.
