I am super pumped also. I just have my young cur dog and she's been treeing some squirrels and treed a coon last spring so hopefully she'll "stumble across" a dumb one! I kind of wish that I could find some guys around here with straight dogs but everyone in my area has dogs that are just as likely to run a deer as they are a coon. So I'll just stick with keeping her in the woods and go from there. Hopefully I'll have a few pictures tomorrow, and I look forward to seeing everyone else's pictures and stories. Good luck and be safe.

tonite

Took my rocky dog out to blow the dust off him. Took the mercedes female along and she gets better every time out, just gotta make the time.
Anyway, went to one spot, had three trees, one was den, one slick, and one had a nice big boar.
Called it a night ....

I can give ya a good reason, last year I left about 20+ coon in trees during the season but one night I shot 5 out of the same tree. There were 7 in that tree and the five I shot all were 25ish +# coon.
Those five coon avgd 27$ a piece.......
Id rather shoot five good coon out of the same tree that shoot 20 of those paper hide kit coon.

The full moon has led me to 4 pines Friday night. Got em to show me there eyes with the squaller. Saturday night had a nice fast chase and three den trees after that. Plenty bright when you can walk anywhere at midnight without turning the light on!

I personally don't, but to each is their own. My reasons are having coon to run another time is far more important than change in my pocket. I hunt pretty hard year round, where as some don't. I like being able to guide a cast and bring back a high score. I think 1 coon per tree is all a dog needs for training purposes too. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the ppl who will say, "3 trees and 10 coon, what a night!!!" I just know I can't do it where I hunt.

I know there's a few of us who are gonna see more than we kill, and some that kill everything they see. That will affect your results.

I think josh is just trying to have a tally of how many are killed. Maybe you should post how many you kill and how many you see?
