I have done it here at the kennel

It depends on what one is looking to get done and how fast one can achieve that goal. When I did it,I drew off both males, mixed semen together and gently rocked the vial of semen back and forth to mix it. After that, female was AI'ed and she had 10 pups,5 from each stud. Both sires of course have to be dna and at the end, pups also but it sure can save one some time in a breeding program, just cost a bit more. Lot's to gain for the cost! I think your best shot at getting a split litter is by using the method I used. Semen from both males have the same chance to make it happen. Good luck with it if ya give it a go!!

I could see doing it if you have an older female who may not raise another litter or to get more potiental buyers. The stud dogs now have "fans". Take for instance if you were to mix seman from mojo and zeb 3. That's gonna make twice the amount of people look at the litter for potiental purchase. Cause some say they won't hunt one off mojo but would the other stud or vise versa.

TIME ....is the reason i have done a dual-sire litter. U can see what each sire produces in a 6-9 mth. time span as opposed to waiting on the conventional method.
Its a great time management method.

Ron,

Call John Ferrari. he has done it more than anyone I know.

usually its frozen semen backed with a 2nd choice live stud to improve the conception rate........and as a backup in case the frozen semen is of low quality.
