Mike ,yeah I had that old bad hip last year and couldn't do much but its doing better now . I knew Gus could do it . He's not perfect but he is a pleasure to hunt.

Gus the Wonder Dog has sure come a long ways. He looked really good at American Redbone Days with 2 cast wins, one being good enough for a Nt Ch win. Gus needs to fire Danny and get himself a new handler, though. Gus should have had 3 cast wins and the Overall Championship. Danny, how many Nt Ch wins does Gus have now? As soon as you make him a Gr Nt, I will bring a female over to breed to him. At the rate he is going, it should not take long.

No argument from me..Gus really did look good the entire weekend. I never did work good under pressure lol. Yeah I blew it at the end. It was a very disappointing situation to come that close and not win. Do you think I need to go to the Lambert Griffith handling school?

Just thought I would let you know Russell and I had a blast hanging out with you, Ronnie and Gus the Wonder Dog this weekend. Our hounds put us in the place where we had the chance to compete to the end and I won't forget that. Gus is a really good hound and I love his personality. I wouldn't mind having some "wonderpups" around here someday either.

everyone for the atta boys. It was truly a good weekend. Sure makes you feel good when you start getting old and realize you can still play and compete with some fine hounds. My buddy Rob Farr deserves a round of applause for his 2 cast wins with Dolly. She is really tough little girl. Rob and I were fantasizing about 2 old farts from yester year winning opposite sex and overall. It didn't quite happen but we came close and had a lot of fun.
