Garmin astro long range magnet mount antenna

I was wondering what everyone thought about the product before I purchase one. Also is there any other antennas that you found that works better? I was looking at a HAM radio catalog and see there are antennas that are the same length for $10 less. I know some stuff when it comes to the high power radios and antennas but I'm not sure if the ones from the catalog will even work. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Take a look at this antenna. I used it all last year and it worked great for me here in the mountains of VA. I have it installed on the passenger side of my hunting truck and same antenna installed on drivers side for my HAM radio. Never had any problems with them affecting each other, always made sure the garmin was off when talking though. For comparison I had the garmin magnet mount on my Tacoma and the DU Supply one installed on hunting truck and the longer one kept the signal while the garmin lost signal at times. They also have a magnet mount version, I just got tired of knocking it off and having to put it back on.

Yes he does stand behind it. Only problem I have is getting the small end to thread on to the garmin because it doesn't have the plastic to make it wider like the garmin magnet mounts do. Buddy was looking at making a piece similar to install on them to fix this. Havent asked to see if it was done. Also their shipping is fast. I had mine in 3 days from Washington to Virginia.
