Jimmy Herring of Macedonia, Illinois passed away Monday morning after a long battle with cancer.

Jimmy L. Herring 1947 - 2014

Jimmy L. Herring, age 66, of Macedonia, IL passed away at 10:45 AM, Monday, June 9, 2014 at his residence in Macedonia, IL.

Jimmy was born on August 5, 1947 in Lemay, MO to the late Jesse and Virginia (Allen) Herring. On January 24, 2008 he married Mary Beal and she survives. Jimmy was a member of Mt. Moriah Church in Creal Springs. He was a member of the Dale Coon Hunters Association, the Sesser Wildlife Association, the Professional Kennel Club, and the American Coon Hunters Association.

Jimmy is survived by his wife: Mary Herring of Macedonia, IL; daughter: Teresa Martin of Creal Springs; granddaughter: Jessica Ford of Harrisburg; five sisters and one brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one daughter.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM, Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Jay Herring will officiate. Burial will follow in Coal Bank Springs Cemetery west of Harrisburg.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
