Independant

This is my opinion and only my opinion. Everyone should hunt what they like and we should all respect each others likes and dislikes. My definition of an independent dog is one that is not effected by the presence of other dogs. If theirs acoon 100 yds in, anindependent dog will tree that coon. If other dogs tree at 100 yds and there isn't acoon there he will go on as far as he has to, in order to tree a coon. This is assuming the dog is also a coondog. In my mind if a dog goes a 1200 yds to get away from dogs is being effected by other dogs. An independent ( coondog) will tree coons as he comes to them no matter what other dogs do. Just as any style of top dog, they are very hard to find. What I call an independent coondog is what I'm looking for. I hope all of you have or are able to find what you like

Most of the independent dogs will pass the 100 yard coon and tree 1200 yds in deep and alone with the meat lol

My point is, that dog is influenced by the dogs on that 100 yd coon. He doesn't want to be with them. By my definition of independence if he wasn't influenced by them he would tree that 100 yd coon. I would call that dog a loner or in some cases jealous. If you call the 1200 yd dog independent what would you call the dog that doesn't care if the other dogs are with him or not.
