Yes they are very bad in Va as well. Try to find a spray called Duranon. You spray it on your clothes and let it sit. I wear the same clothes every night hunting and it will last 90 days. Best stuff I have found, it can not come in contact with your skin though.

Ticks are suppose to be very bad up this way too. They predicted 50% of all unvaccinated running dogs will get Lyme. Protect yourselves and your dogs

What do you give you dog as a vaccination for Lymes disease? What all does it prevent?

They bad here but Ive been drinking apple cider vinegar for yrs. It keeps them some what at bay and keeps chiggers off. I still got a few with it. Then here while back a feller told me totake garlic. We were sitting on his porch one evening. Skeeters were slap eating me up. I was cussing. Said they not bothering you? He said nah. Garlic keeps em away. So I went next day and got some. Thats about 3 weeks ago and Ive not had a chigger or a tick stuck to me since! One skeeter buzzed me last night but it never landed. Plus it keeps vampires away.

From what I understand the limes vac has not been very good and it has caused some side effects!!! Don't worry about the vaccine doreventive maintenance with a cattle tag and bayertree and shrub every30 days and you won't have a tick to give them limes disease!! On a two hour cast one night I got 27 ticks off of me and the dog had none!!! Since then I spry my frogleggs with permithian from tsc!!!! Good luck like I said a couple have told me the vaccine is wasting money that even if given no guarantee against lymes

Yes garlic works on mosquitoes, ticks, fleas and girl friends. None of them will come around you.
