Made some memory's Lastnight LOL

Took my 4 year old son hunting Lastnight.Had 2 coons treed in bout 20 mins and that fired my son right up.Then he busted through a patch of honeysuckle rolled down a hill and over a 4 ft drop off into a creek!!Scared us both pretty good.He was soaked head to toe but not hurt.He strutted all over them woods telling us how tuff he was cause he didn't cry.He suggested we call his mother and tell her what happened but I told him we should wait till we get home.lol.My brother and I laughed allnight long over that. Its a memory we will never forget.

Yeah man that's the good stuff right there. Dad and I have taken my nephew and my daughter a few times. I remember them cheering the dogs on and betting which dog would bark first. They where talking how tuff they were and not scared of the dark. I think by 10:30 both of them were asleep in the truck snoring like crazy. We had a blast. When my daughter was 6 or 7 I took her deer hunting for the first time. I was rattling and using a grunt call to try and get one to show. Then she looks at me and said, " Dad can I do that?" I gave her the call and she held it to her mouth and took a big ol deep breath and blew the deer call as hard as she could. It sounded like we had murdered a deer. I couldn't help myself, I busted out laughing and she did too. She still talks about that all the time. My dad took me hunting when I was younger and kept me in the woods as a teenager. I honestly believe with all my heart it kept me out of trouble and away from drugs. In my family out of 17 grand kids me being one, Myself and 2 others are the only ones that work and do not stay cracked out on something. My dad and their dad kept us hunting or fishing every weekend. We all had some of the best times of our lives on our trips.

That's good stuff! My 13 year old son started hunting with me about 6 years ago and we, or I, have more memories than I can count. The one that stands out most of all is that in all this time, he has never once said "Dad, slow down." He is a tough lil' buggar and has kept true and steady literally through thick and thin. Sounds like yours is on the same path! Makes a Dad proud!

It just doesn't get any better than taking a kid that wants to go. I took my nephew the first time when he was three with a friend of mine.

He asked what my friends dog was doing and I told him that she was treed. Mine was deeper running so I asked him what he thought she was doing. He looked up at me and said "she's running a deer" WE laughed all night over that. He hunted with me until 3am and was wide eyed and excited the whole time.
