Alpha TT ?

Went out the other night kept losing communication with collar every few minutes. Is it the tree cover now that it's summer? There was a little fog also. Thanks.

Make sure you keep the Alpha and the collars updated often. The thick cover cuts down on distance too, but make sure you get the unit/collars updated.

Please tell us exactly how you update the unit and collars. How often do you have to do this?? Thanks.

I have never updated my Alpha or collar and have never noticed any effect from leaf or cloud cover. If your problems continue, I'd be looking at the antennas.

I bring my Alpha to the local dealer I bought it from about every 2-3 months and they update it for free...takes about 10 minutes. You can also go to garmin.com and do it on there. I run deer dogs and and I would lose signal at about 3 miles with the big antenna. I would get it updated and the next day would get 5-6 miles in the same terrain. You may also want to remove the collar antenna and clean the contact point.
