320 antena question

Tired of the long antena pokeing me. Diddnt think I got as good of a signal with the short one.
But can't find it to try it again. Are the folding ones any good??

My buddies got one that has like a cable on it and folds up like the old antenna's on a boom box. I think he got it from Lion country supply and it picks up just as good as the truck mount antenna. I'm pretty sure this is it..Its 42" when pulled out.....http://www.lcsupply.com/Astro-Long-...uctinfo/ASTLRA/

They are very good for range. Like the telescoping antennas, they are fragile and will kink very easily.
