Rabies Tag

Got the idea this weekend to rivet my dogs rabies tags to the collars just like the name plates. Has anyone else tried this? I have yet to do it just wondering if anyone else has.

rivets

I use two rivets and check them to make sure they don't come loose. They won't rip out like the little bitty S hook can running through brush

I hang my dogs tags on key chain rings, it jingles as they go, and I keep the paperwork in the truck. I've yet to lose a tag but if I do I'll use the rivet method.

I've had tags on bird dogs held with key rings and had them pull apart. Like you said you can here them as they go and don't really care to have that on a hound.
After hearing about a dog shot a couple years ago in a hunt in our state and the gunman getting off on a silly technicality I figure I might as well attach the tags to the dog and cover my bases. Minimal work and have done my part.

Yeah, that technicality in Iowa is that for the gunman to be charged, a current rabies tag has to be on the dog.
