We treed 4 and put the dogs uo.Didnt wanna wear em ou with 3 nights of comp hunting coming up .Trust me them coon were everywere.Shane had to convince me to quit It wasnt easy
Coons walkin up and down ditches crossing rds everywere.
Flat land with water pockets. Swampy ,corn fields Lil knolls here and there.
Looks kike more campers are here now that i looked out this morning. All the motel parking lots are full of trucks with dog boxes. The conveniences of this place is awesome.Anything u want or need is within a mile or so.Good choice of place to host hunt.
The only thing is the long drive for the guys from the south, but i will say. Im sure glad i made the drive.Well worth it.

Kind of hate that, no one has given Wauseon a chance yet, and its done voted back to Flora. Nothing against the Club of Flora, I'm talking from a coon perspective.

I'm not sure I can get up here and complain since I couldn't make it there to vote, but from what I know about coon hunting, if you have a coondog, its hard to get totally dry holed in northern Ohio.

My experiences in Flora, if you don't have 1 about about 5 to 7 guides, you're beaten before you start. Just my opinion...

Every cast in OH has a chance to win the hunt. There are people that don't want every dog to have a chance to win. Just a select few are supose to win. Thats just the way it is, have to make friends with the right people to do any good in flora.

Cool coon

About to find out who is afraid to get in a coon treeing contest, they did not show. Everybody had a chance. Gave it a 10.

Had a great time!! Weather was windy and wet most of the time at night, several pretty days but that was not the host clubs' fault. Lots of coon and good guides (for the hunts, didn't see any for pleasure hunting).

Was 12 hours of tires turning and 775 miles each way. Was WORTH IT!!

Had a great time.
I have been hearing there is a coon in every tree out there. It was very disappointing to find out Saturday night when we walked into the last tree of the night to see that there coon out there have the mucket disease just like they do hear in Iowa.. That disease can spread quickly and they soon won't have a coon in every tree...

Not sure if it's the same mucket we have in Illinois.

Basically when you tree a mucket coon, it swallows itself and disappears before you get into the tree.

That's the most severe type, the other makes all the hair fall out of the tail and the fur turns white..

Oh, that's what causes that. We always figured the poor coon had cancer and was on chemo when they didn't have hair on their tail!

I've heard mucket disease was real bad anywhere they had Walker days every year. Sorry to hear!

Sorry guys, couldn't resist.
