I have one out of him and redgy's poison ivy female. He is one of the best acting puppies I have had in a long time bold ,smart , good looking and a very nice mouth I like him . Before I bought the pup I asked redgy why he bred to him and he said he had hunted with him several times and he was a pretty nice dog.

I know nothing about the dog or his owner and wish both the best, but something tells me good advertisement and a name or two on his papers goes a long ways!!! I'm not trying to take anything away from the dog as he could be the NEXT BIG THING, but it just seems like they started breeding the dog when he him self was still a puppy.

I personally want a stud that performs at a high level in the woods, at the night hunts, and in the stud pen. He him self is still young, as are his pups, so will see in the future if this really was the LITTER OF IMPACT.

people say papers dont make the dog but when you got a set of papers like law does id say it does. why else would you breed a dog when its still a pup. i dont know the dog or mr. hopkins but im sure as long as he has been in this game that there is something about law that he seen witch tells him hes is gonna be a great coondog. i hope he is cause from what i seen of him he is a good lookin dog and i might wanna breed to him some day myself.

Its simple. Dogs get bred everyday based off riding the coat tails and accomplishments of other dogs somewhere in the dogs pedigree.

Why on earth would anyone breed to a dog that hasn't proved anything when there's a pile of terrific males out there that have won thousands of dollars in PKC.

Let me tell you this. The ones that say they dont like PKC or won't hunt it are simply afraid of getting out classed and out dogged on a regular basis. Any other reason is just an excuse and goes with my statement above. Especially of someone has the money to run the hunts here and there. They don't for no other reason then fear of not having the dog power.

Just absolutely positively wrong. How in the world do you keep coming up with these crazy half cocked theories of yours? Everybody is different and different registries are run different depending on where they are at etc.

I knew a guy that would not hunt PKC. Had a dog that could win the big ones, won a state championship etc. but just did not like that registry.

He put the dog in 3 PKC hunts, WON ALL THREE but hated every minute of it and never went back. He had three "bad" hunts in a row and even though he won the hunts he just didn't like it.

He wasn't afraid of any dog power, he won every PKC hunt he was in but he just hated those hunts. With that particular dog he WAS the dog power at every hunt he went to but that still didn't make him like hunting that registry. Different area of the country than yours, PKC was likely very different than what you are used to. Just wasn't for him even though he won every one he entered.

He don't hunt any more and that dog is dead but he proved in the hunts he had what it took, but he just personally did not like that registry.

Lets be realistic RIP, the good dogs finish out quick in UKC. Then what do you do with them? Any suggestions?

I don't think the registry makes the dog, its the amount of fur in the tree. Before somebody jumps the gun, I have hunted and won in different KC,s. If Dr. Law reproduces like his ancestors then he will be bred to regardless of titles. The comment was made about him being bred to because of his papers. True, aren't all dogs bred because of papers? Ancestory, the basis of 95% of all scheduled breedings. Every hunter likes different lines and that is what keeps those traits we desire in our hounds. In my personal opinion Mr. Hopkins knows a coondog and what it takes to be a stud dog. If he wants to breed his dog at six months old than it is his choice. If he is going to reproduce or not it doesn't matter if he is one or ten years old, titled or not. I personally don't put as much worth in hunt titles as I did fifteen years ago. If a dog will tree a coon half the time now then it can win a hunt title/money if put into enough hunts. My idea is wait a few years and see if his pups show as winners or at your local dog trader then we can resume this conversation.

If someone wants to breed to him go for it. If they don't more power to them. I have never seen the dog in a hunt around here. He may be a Coondog maybe not. Your not getting him your getting his offspring. I don't know why so much controversy is caused over this dog. Is it jealousy or what. If Hopkins wants to stud him out let him do it. If you want a pup get one if you don't buy another pup from a different sire. I am giving a non biased answer. Its the wrong breed for me. Although I am not color blind on a good one.
