Rule Question?

After reading the CHB advisor column this month, I have a question concerning the "coon bailing out of tree" article.

4dog cast, Dogs A and B struck and treed in that order. Dogs C and D are at large. As the 5 on A and B's tree expires, the cast is almost to the tree. On the way in, dog B comes off of the tree with a kitten coon in its mouth (approximately 50 yards off of the tree) and brings the kitten to the cast. Dog A continues treeing. When the cast gets to the tree, there is a hole in the bottom of the tree with a litter of new born kittens in it.

How are A and B scored?

This happened in 2013 at Walker Days on my cast. This was in the midst of scoring on 5 coons in a matter of 18 min. I commend everyone on the cast. I was not the judge, but as a cast we were able to agree that the correct way to score it was as described above. Plus A both ways and B strike is plussed delete tree.

This was one of the few cases that you can delete tree points. I read the article and have been seeing some posts being made about deleting tree points and I believe that this is one of the few cases you should.

I'm surprised nobody has made the case to minus tree and plus strike? The argument can be made

I don't get the mag so I don't know what was in it. In the past the ruling has always been that if the dog can make contact with the coon it is considered a caught coon.
