I'm ready! The woods should be lighting up soon. Man it's tiring to coon hunt at night then wake up to turkey hunt. I guess I'm an addict.

Skowpoke, been that way my whole life.Coon,deer,turkey,ducks,frogs,rabbits,squirrel, dove,quail,grouse.

But,how i love to see the world come to life in the morning and hear them ole turkey sounding off.Ive laid out a many a night coon hunting and come in and grab my shotgun and go sit in the woods turkey hunting ,then kick back and sleep in the middle of the day.

Wake up and hunt the evening.

Mine was only 19#, 10" beard & 1 1/8" spurs. It was my best turkey hunt ever though. My 8 yr old son has been a few times, but this was the 1st time he got to watch the show. He was pumped up! I think he is hooked now.

Thanks. He loves the outdoors and going hunting and fishing. On his 1st day of 2nd grade the teacher was talking about the 4 seasons. She asked the class what season it was and his response was "dove season". That cracked me up.

Mathew, I will never forget Sat morning of the SEBTA hunt in SC. Little man walked into the club to the wood stove and it had went out. I had a propane heater, I told him to sit by it til i got a fire going in the wood stove. Got it going and went to let him know. He was sitting there with his socks and shoes off with his toes stuck in the air in front of the heater. Haha. Priceless...

I think everyone around got a kick out of that. He is definitely not a shy boy. He will make himself at home anywhere he goes. I appreciate the fact that everyone in the coon hunting world looks out for him and makes him feel like part of the family.

Ive got the same problem that Todd has! I love to coon hunt, deer hunt, turkey hunt, dove hunt, duck hunt, gator hunt and fish! I'm an addict and don't want any help! Lol
Nice birds every one!!
Our season has been in for 3 1/2 weeks. I killed one opening day, not a huge bird. 17 lbs, 9in beard, 1 1/8 spurs.
I've called a few up for friends. Called 1 for a friend last week, it was one of the funnest hunts I've been on in a long time! I finally called him away from 3 hens after 30 minutes and he came running looking for a fight! My buddy shot him at 10 yards! He weighed 20 lbs, 1 1/4 spurs and 10 1/2 in beard.
If any of you haven't tried using a strutting decoy with a hen under him, like he's breeding her, YOU SHOULD GIVE IT A TRY!! It has done wonders for me and really helps getting those smart and mature birds, also one that's got a lot of hens. Best money I've spent on turkey hunting! Jmo

Thats a good tactic Ray,our birds are still hened up pretty good.
It is fixin.to be on hot and heavy. Ive done the same thing you a talking bout and killed a nice one.. Left his hens and raced to my decoys.mad and ready to fight.

Second trip out and scored again. I think I might quit while I'm ahead. Lol
I didn't have my wing man on this trip but he was pumped up about the kill. We had a cold frosty morning here, but the the turkeys were hot as fire. Gobbled good and responded good. I had another bird come in, but he got a pass this time. 19.5#, 10 1/2" beard and a 1" spur. For some reason he was missing a spur on 1 leg.

Filled my last tag this morning. I had a buddy with me, but he couldn't get a shot. He made me shoot. Lol! It's been an excellent season. I'll leave the gun behind now and try to call a bird in for someone else.
