hunt ?

What would you do with this.
Turn 4 dogs loose.2 dogs get treed.you score them.the other 2 dogs get treed and you go to them.you tie them back and judge determines they are split.a dog from another cast comes in to your tree(big eared sob).shine a cedar can't find coon circle it up.tie my dog back 30 feet from his tree and go to shining the other dogs tree.all of a sudden a hell of a dog fight breaks out.the dog from another cast jumped on dizz and him tied to a tree.

We met the fellow at the end of the road.I got out of the truck with some bad thoughts in my head.the fellow was in his 70s.I decided to leave it alone.told him his dogs ear was tore.its best I keep my hands to myself.
Then I turned dizz loose on three legs and a hole in his head.he went on like nothing ever happend.you gotta love a dog that has heart.
The judge said something about scratching both dogs.
I would like to know what this would have been ruled cause I would have took it back to the club for a pannel.

You can't control another dog from another cast coming to the tree. Happens all the time in big hunts where hunting grounds are close together. ..........As far as fighting scratch the aggressor. If not known scratch both dogs. Even though the dog was in another cast he can be scratched for fighting. Fighting is fighting...

Could you scratch both dogs when one is tied to a tree and can't move over two feet in any direction?

I don't believe the Scratch for Fighting rules apply to dogs that are not within the cast.

As far as what to do about it, I know what would have popped into my head, first. But then hopefully cooler, more clear thinking would kick in.....

So, I'd probably separate dogs and do what I could to get the strange dog back to his owner.

Both dogs were in a cast , scratch the aggressor if known or both if not .. just woulda had two cards with involved under two judges ... otherwise , toss the rulebook in the glovebox and just wing it .

How would you determine the aggresor?
Would it be the dog that was running loose or the dog that was tied?
I'm looking to see witch way this would go.I don't see how dizz could be the aggresor he was tied.

Mike I am not sure of the correct way to score this. This is what I would have done if judging the cast. Since you post this on the UKC board I am guessing this happened in a UKC hunt. Since there came a strange dog into the cast when scoring tree and 1 tree was already scored and the other tree was being scored I would make every effort to finish scoring the other tree. Get the dogs separated and finish scoring the tree. Let all handlers in cast know that you will be calling time out as soon as the tree is scored for interference from strange dog. This dog is not a part of the cast nor do you even know if it is a part of the hunt. I don't see any way that you can scratch a dog for fighting by himself..

Big plott dog put the hurt on dizz.it might have been diffrent if he wasn't tied.if we wouldn't have got there quick dizz would be dead.
