Thanks for the response guys. Yeah my 3 year old dog and dads 2.5 year old are tone broke. I always tone before shocking it gives them a chance to come back. If I tone I watch my Garmin if they don't start heading my way they get the juice next. Mine and dads older dogs pretty much got this down pat but every now and then I have to give them a little juice to get them to come. But my pup just turned 10 months old this was the 1st track she had ever run by herself. I thought it might be a coon then when my 3 year old got to her and never made a peep I knew it was trash. Its been a LONG time since I had a pup and I just wanted to get an idea of how others train their pups. I sure didn't want to shock the crap out of her on her first track . I have put a lot of work into just getting her to this point. Hopefully, I can get her on the right track soon. She has seen 1 caged coon (that I didn't get to turn loose to see if she would put it up Because my aunt passed away. My brother in law turned it loose where we hunt at.) and I put 1 out on her during taking season. I will let it slide a time or 2 but that's about all. I tried toning her but she just kept on going. When I toned the 3 year old he come hauling butt. I figured I would hunt them together for while then single her out. I pretty well know what he is doing. If he runs any trash it isn't for long. But if another dog runs trash sometimes he will come back and go on hunting and sometimes he will stay with them but not open on track. I'm just trying to get an idea of when to start correcting her for running trash. I know for a fact a shocker is a very useful tool but in the wrong hands it can ruin a dog quick. Thanks for the input guys,,,,
