Pride dog food

Just wondering if anyone that feeds or has fed Pride dog food has ever had a dog to have seizure or paralysis episodes? I have been feeding Pride in the black bag for quite a while now. This past winter after a night of hunting, my old dog came out of the box and just fell head first and his front end flattened out on the tailgate. He done this several more times while going to the kennel. Once in the kennel, he just set straight up for a very long time and wouldn't move like he was paralyzed. I just thought he was cramping up since he hadn't been hunted for a while and it was real cold out. I was talking to a buddy of mine the other day about it and he told me that he had a dog do similar thing and had another dog to just fall over dead in his yard when he tied him out to clean his kennel. He said he was at a hunt this past weekend and overheard some guys talking about their dogs having similar actions and seizure activity as well. He got to talking to them and come to find out that all 5 of those guys were feeding Pride as well. Not bashing any brand dog foods or trying to start any big debates, just wondering if maybe this is coincidence or there is really something to Pride food causing these symptoms. Just seems strange that 7 guys feed Pride dog food and seen such similar activity in their dogs. Thanks.

food

I fed pride for years then lost access to a dealer.
I live in southern MI and tried all the big money dog foods but finally got a guy in Eaton Rapids that I buy pride from now. I feed the black bag all winter and will switch to the green bag 27-18 in the summer. I feed 5 coonhounds and 4 beagles I run beagles and beagle pups on the black bag and all did fine. The black bag is hot on both fat and protein could be the dog over heated but not likely in the winter. I have not found a quality food for this price till I got back into pride. I hope this helps just my two cents in short version I feed to many dogs and have not had a issue with pride.

Ive been feeding the Pride Pro series for four years now. Orange bag in the winter and green bag in the summer with no issues. I have found it to be the best feed on the market for the money.

Don't know anything bout the seizures but I've fed pride forever n am done with it,the quality is goin to hell n they **** like geese on it. The black bag bout isn't fit to feed anymore. I do like the 26-20 pro series in the summer on my bear dogs . Lots of energy n muscles them up good but it doesn't hold up in the winter , to lean of a food or something and stool has increased. My buddy put a recipe together with what we want in a food n is havin it made. Clear plastic bags . I only been feeding it for a short bit and can already tell big a difference . Feed less, shiny coats n less stool ( 1/2 the stool of pride)It's a 24-20. $4.50 a bag cheaper than pro series 26-20. I think there's a lot of foods out there with quality goin down n price goin up. If u don't go buy a 35-40 $ bag of food or put them on self feeders hounds just don't hold up when hunted hard .

Feed it for years. Just changed feed because in my opinion they changed something in the feed and it went to hell. The orange bag is what I feed.

My wife picked up a bag and accidentally got the black bag. My male walker was passing it through so quickly that you could see the pellets in the stool. Lot of people in my area feed Pride but most wont touch the black bag. Orange bag is not a bad feed, though it seems to have changed lately.

Thats crazy and good to know, my dealer ran out of the orange for awhile so i fed the black and had no stool problems with my male leopard

I was feeding Diamond but it was half hour away and pride is 10 minutes, maybe ill think about changing, the diamond i was feeding was a couple bucks more and 10lb less

I'm not sure of what color bag those guys were feeding, just know it was pride brand. I don't see any stool issues in my dogs and this kinda makes me want to switch but don't know what to switch to.

I've fed the orange Pro Series bag for the last 3 years and have no complaints. Switched a couple dogs to Diamond EA because everyone was talking so good about it and I didn't see a bit of difference so everything went back to Pride.
