Not filling in time used?

Is it a scratch able offense to not put two hours used in the time box?

If the other times were there and it added up to the required 2 hours I would ask if it was an honest mistake. I don't believe I would scratch the whole cast if it appeared to just be a mistake. But, it depends on the MOH...if the other times didn't add up and the 2 hour spot was blank I'm afraid there isn't much choice. The time has to be right and there isn't really a lot of wiggle room on that.

Ok the notes box smart ass. A cast came in with the " notes box" blank. I always thought that meant scratch the whole cast but a guy brought a card back with it blank and wrote a formal complaint and everything about it so I just wondered.

Dustin15, you don't have to write anything in that box. When I'm judging, I leave it blank. If the cast winner wants to write 120 minutes used in the box that is up to him/her but when I win, I don't write anything in the box.

On the right hand side of the new scorecards, there is a small box for each dog. In that box there is a place for the time used, each dogs score, and each handlers initials. I make it a point to have each handler verify that is correct, and initialed before we leave the woods. I also use the big box at the top for my notes, then at the end of the night, I make a delete line through each note, then write 120 minutes used in big print, and circle that. Never had any questions regarding time by doing that.

Also if a handler is scratched, or withdraws, I will tally all the dogs scores, and that handlers time used, and fill that in on his dogs box, before he signs the card and leaves the cast.

Here's a link to a PDF of the 2014 Scorecard so you can see what I'm talking about. http://res.ukcdogs.com/pdf/2014CoonhoundScorecard.pdf

That time used section on the scorecard is only if they leave the cast early. It does not have to be filled out if a handler remains with the cast for the entire time. It was also on the old scorecards, but it was on the left hand side of the card instead of the right hand side.

I always use a countdown and write 120 min used. I just didn't know if it was required. I'll continue to do it that way. Just wondered the rule on it.

dustin,

Officially.... Handlers signing the scorecard, without question noted, meets the criteria and verifies that the correct amount of time was used in the hunt. Making note of how much time was hunted is not required.

Should be the handler that left the cast placing his initials in that box.

In case of scratch or wd... So the judge fills out hunt time used and each dogs current score.. But the handler has to sign signature and then initial in the small box to the right?

4. Did not get scratched for not hunting the full time.

Really??????????????????

or:

Brought in a scorecard that did not have the time right and the MOH could not determine if the cast hunted the full two hours and the entire cast did not get scratched??????????

Really??????????????????

Page 99 of the "Coonhound Advisor" says: These situations render a timecard incomplete/Scratch scorecard if:
Time hunted is not referenced in note keeping box.

Then why does the Coonhound Advisor on page 99 under the heading "Incomplete vs. Not Considered Incomplete" say to scratch the scorecard for "time hunted not referenced in note keeping box." ???????????????????

When the new Advisor came out I picked mine up at Autumn Oaks where it was first available. When I got home Sunday night I caught the error .So figure within a couple days of the book being out I actually posted on this forum calling attention to it.
That is EXACTLY what it is ....A PRINTING ERROR.
if I can find my post I will bring up the URL for it.

I found my post...Read the last one by Allen.....

Thanks for point this out...seems like UKC would address the mistake. This was known and called to someone's attention some time ago...why haven't they done some sort of follow up??? Like post it in a sticky on the forum and write a corrective sheet to add to the Advisor.

I am familiar with this situation because the guy called me that night and said the MOH scratched him because his scorecard did not have a hunt time used and he wanted to know if he should fill out a formal complaint=yes, he can't loose and hopefully that MOH will brush up on the rules a little better from now on!

They did about 4 years ago when the mistake was discovered.

And they are still charging money for that document???? 4 years ago they made a mistake that has probably gotten how many dogs scratched and they are still providing the incorrect information to people and charging money for it????? That is beyond pitiful!!!!!!!!!!

What DOES need to be on a winning score card??

I believe the cast winners scores need filled out and the CWs initials or signature....nothing else right???

There's a misconception that every little thing needs filled out...and guys have had cards thrown out because a cast member didn't sign it or put down 120 used or coon seen etc....
