320/dc50 problem

i have a brand new 320/dc50 combo and i lose communication with the collar quite frequently at less tha 100 yards and the compass jumps all over the place. on the dog page it will show dog behind you when he is in front of me. does these things sporadically. i had a 220 prior to this that worked flawlessly. any help would be appreciated

OK man, Have you updated your 320's software and the dc 50 software? If not that would be the first thing I would try. Garmin has released a few updates with issues on the dc 50. Also have you tried recalibrating the compass at the start of a new hunt garmin recommends doing so if it has not been used in a while or is moved more that 20 miles. Being as you said it was new I would check for software updates on the 320 and dc 50. I know one of them was for problems with it jumping. I had one that would go in and out like you are saying and the last update fixed it.
