Stephens cur

Who has had a Stephens, and why do you leave tail long? Thinking about getting one.

I use to raise a few a long time back and as far as i no that was breed standard for the tail you can look it up as for me the ones i kept and hunted i bobbed because i never liked getting slapped with that long tail and i think they look better bobbed.stephens stock are good curs i still have some of their juice running through my dogs today.

If you dont like a open dog you may not want a stephens because a lot of them open day and night and the blanton line open a little more than jr from what i seen.
I like stephens better than omcba myself but i hunted them at night an i like a dog to open then.

Some of the guys I hunt with used to give me slack cause I used to be a walker man and switched to curs. I like them all and one breed doesn't favor me over the other. I just hunt what works for me and that's a branch off of the kemmer line.
