Grub boots were suppose to be tuff like the first muck boots were. I have customers that love them and I have customers that wonder why the purchased them. Had some rubber come off when it shouldn't and had some tight around the ankle for some guys.
Muck boots are perhaps the most comfortable but many wear the heal out in no time if you hunt 5 nights a week. Now wear booties and you can get around that but your buying a pair of boots a size larger than you wear and most guys can't figure our what size they actually need without any extra measurements.
Lacrosse are my favorite and they will be yours if you have big calves. Get them with the chaps sewn low and they fit well. Not as comfortable as Mucks but since you can get them to fit, they feel pretty good.
My suggestion if your thinking about boots is go to your local Bass Pro Shop, Gander Mountain or any store that carries a variety of boots and try some on. Then after you have the boot sizing right and know what feels good, it's time to see if your favorite dealer can put chaps on them.
This should be a boot buying guide "sticky."
I have probably posted the same thing a dozen times now.
