oney's bloodlines

was wondering if there is anyone in maine thats has any oney's blood or woodstocks blood? i got an english 5 months ago from a friend and he is oney's but havent heard of many people in maine that have too many. i was wondering because after i get my pup trained i was looking for another oney's dog or woodstock to coon hunt. im new to coon hunting and if there is any advise or opinions i would really apreciate it.

Thank You.

I hunt Oney's hounds and like them a lot. I have had a few woodstock dogs also but have none in my kennel at this time. there is good and bad in every line just like there is in every breed. but all round oney bred hounds are pretty nice.

not close to maine but... if you ever take a long ride to indiana, my buddy raises line bred woodstock hounds and has a few litters a year. his dogs are top notch and i think they represent the woodstock name well. if ya want any thing like his number just pm me and i will get it to ya. man i thought maine stayed too cold to coon hunt

There were quite a few Oney bred dogs in Me. years ago but it's not as popular as in the past. I think Clay Tranten may have a few dogs out of Oney's breeding.

I lived in Me for 17 years and owned quite a few English dogs. I've never seen a Woodstock bred dog up north.

The English guys I know from Me. have mostly Rooster, Hardtime, Wilcox and Briar Creek bloodlines.

glad to help you anytime i can! my hounds all basically are bred just like the woodstock and actually have woodstock grizzly 1 time. mostly mine are little swanging tapp bred. only difference is red man was out of singing tapp and the dam was from hard time speck over williams blue goose. little swanging tapp was from singing tapp and the dam was off of boyds little joe over williams blue goose. joe and speck are the difference. my hounds are what i still try to consider tapp/joe/blue goose breeding. i just had a litter but if i end up with more pups next year i would be glad to help you as well. feel free to call too buddy.

Oney

Good name in coon hounds. Al Williams is in Charlemont, MA. He got Ben Munroe's old farm and everything else Ben owned. Al is a gentleman and I'm sure he must have some blood from Ben's dogs and Ben only owned Oney hounds. Bert & Ben were great friends. Ben had Vanzant's Sam bred dogs 40 yrs. ago. Everything else up until he died all were Oney bred dogs. Good Luck.
