Glynn Holmes

I was in Ft. Valley, Ga. this past week, preaching in a Camp Meeting. I had the opportunity to visit with Glynn Holmes, a fancier, hunter, and breeder of Smoky River hounds. He sure has some nice dogs, and likes what I like in a hound. I really liked his Geronimo dog. He is a good looking dog, and reproducer of good dogs.

His wife made a pineapple short cake that was out of this world, and Glynn knows how to make a good cup of coffee. Most people make coffee too weak for me, but Glynn got it just right.

I really enjoyed meeting Glynn, and his wife, and wish him nothing but the best. He has a good thing going on. The man has his head on straight.

Glynn bear hunts with us some and he has a nice bunch of hounds.I have bought several from him and bred a few females to his Geronimo dog with great results.Glynn isn't worried about titles or performance programs he just wants dogs the hunt fast and do it right.I can guarantee you he don't have any brood females in his yard.If they don't hunt to suit him he don't breed them.
The best thing about Glynn is he tells it like it is and he can just about tell you what one of his pups will being in the woods at a certain age if hunted. He knows what his dogs are and what they reproduce and in my book that makes him a top breeder/hunter.

Craig, I really enjoyed the visit and hope we can get together for a hunt someday. My sweet wife is a great cook and she makes a mean pineapple cake. The coffee, always Community brand dark roast, make for good coffee. The hounds are just dogs.I like them and they suit me fine.Geronimo is a nice hound and I feel like he is reproducing well.I'm glad you like my hounds and I sure like what I've read about yours.

God,a sweet wife, good friends, strong coffee and a bunch of good hounds is what makes my world go round.

Glynn Holmes
