Garmin Astro 320????

I just got a new 320 and it all of a sudden wouldn't come on. I turned the receiver and the collar on and waited until they made a connection. Then I turned it off, drove 2 miles and tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't come on. I tried new batteries as that was my first thought but that is not it. Is there some kind of reset or anything I should try before sending it back to the vendor? Thanks in advance.

.

Plug it in to a power cable in your truck if you have one or plug it in with the usb cable that came with into your computer. It will start up then be ok.

Lets start over. You have a very different problem.
First lets make sure your batteries are in correct and you don't have any batteries with plastic sticking over the negative side preventing the batteries from making contact.

Once that is done just plug in the usb cable to the Garmin and then to the computer. The garmin should start up. Not sure what your saying about not being recognized.
What type of batteries are you running in it? Please don't say lithium.

I am running rechargeable batteries. They have been fully charged. When I have it plugged into the computer most of time it will show the usb icon on the screen. I also tried to down load more birdseye maps but it doesn't even show that I have a device plugged into the computer.

Buddy over the internet I think you have me stumped. If the usb cable isn't working there has to be a problem with your pin connection either on the cable or on the handheld. I would try another connection. I would also look at the pin connection and see if you have something bent in the back of the astro.
You best bet is to call Garmin at 1800-800-1020 and tell them your issues and they could probably get you another astr.

My 320 wouldn't come on the other night and the guy I was hunting with plugged it into his car charger and it came right on. Is this something that happens often with the 320? I just starting using a 320, but I've had a 220 ever since they came out and never had that happen.

Puzzled ??

This thing has a mind of its own. Last night it came back on and started working. I turned it off and on several times and it worked as it should. So tonight I load up to go hunting and turn on the receiver and link up to the collars. I turn it off while driving from the store to the first drop and it will not come back on. Same routine as last night. Trying to save some $ I bought this one off Ebay. It was refurbished by Garmin. I emailed the vendor and he said he would do whatever it took to make it right so I can't complain about the customer service. However, I will not buy something that has already been back to factory with issues again. I am sure others have ordered re-furbished Garmins with no issues. Lucky m I guess! LOL!

Mr. Bruce if I can get my money back I will be calling you to order another one. I ordered my first one from you and never had an issue. I hope the person who stole it gets what he deserves.

Great customer service

I just got of the phone with Garmin and they have helped with the issue. The problem is I downloaded a corrupt birdseye file directly to the internal memory. I had to hold the on button while simultaniously connect the USB cable to the computer. Then He walked me through deleting the files and getting things back up and running. He said I should have downloaded birdseye to a micro sd card. That way if I have any issues I could just pull and replace the card. Can't say enough good things about the the customer service at Garmin!

The refurbished Garmins has the same 1 year warranty that a new one has.
