The Boss HotSpot is our newest addition to an already excellent line of lights. Technology changes at a rapid pace these days and as it changes we will continue to incorporate the most modern advancements into our line up of Lights.


We have been proud of our lights for the past four years and we will continue to bring you lights with quality built in. The Boss HotSpot has us excited for several reasons. The reasons are actually the answers to the questions you the customer ask when you call about a light.



First question I am always asked, “How Bright is the Light”.

The Boss HotSpot is the brightest coonhunting light being marketed and sold today. If you think that claim is incorrect, we have nothing to hide. We are at Coon Hunts around the Country on a regular basis and your are welcome to stop by and compare any light you have with our lights. It doesn’t get any simpler than that. You can determine not only the BRIGHTNESS but the HALO pattern of the light which is important to us. Why? The HALO is what puts light at your feet so you can see what your fixing to trip over.



Second question is “What is the Burn Time"
Position 5- 4 hours
Position 4 - 28 hours
Position 3- 50 hours
Position 2 - 92 hours
Position 1- over 5 days

Third question is “How Much Does it Weigh and is it Balanced”.
Let me answer the BALANCED part first. Our lights are not only used by Coonhunters. We are proud to say that Gator Hunters, Varmit Hunters, Hog Hunters, Frogger’s and night Fisherman enjoy our Lights. If your in a boat wrestling a Gator over the side or any of these other activities, you need a light that is balanced so it will stay on your head. If your looking down or looking up, it is there to stay. We build our lights solid and we understand a cap light may not be for everyone. Some people can’t stand any weight on their head as they have never worn a hat. Others take off the hardhat they work in everyday and put on their coon hunting cap light at night and think nothing of it. If your use to wearing a cap then the weight of our light which is a pound and a half, in no way will slow you down.



Last question but perhaps the most important is “Customer Service and How does it Compare”.
I am proud to say that we do every thing possible to make your experience dealing with us one that is Friendly and Positive. If there is a question or issue with the light we are only a phone call away any warranty or repair work is done quickly as possible with turn around time usually one day in our shop.

What does a Cap Light Package consist of?
You get the HotSpot Head mounted on either a Black Bump Cap or a Camo Soft Cap with hard Liner.
You get a Smart Charger to protect your battery from overcharge.
You get a set of Pop Covers that have four changeable lens which are red, amber, green and blue.

What is the Lumens or Lux of your light?
We have sold lights for 4 years and we have made it a practice not to publish these numbers. A lot of numbers being published are not correct. Some are intentionally stated wrong to sell product while others are stated wrong because the instruments used to take the measurements were not not used correctly. Like I said earlier we spend a lot of time on the road every year attending Coon Hound Events. Your are more than welcome to compare any light we have to any other light. We actually encourage that so you know exactly what your are purchasing. At these events we stay till it gets dark for those that want to see our lights can.


What volt is the light and what are the ma of your batteries?
The HotSpot is built with the latest advancement in batteries being offered. Yes, that cost us more but getting you a quality product is what counts. The voltage of the light at full charge is 4 volts.

What is the warranty?
2 Year Full Warranty.

What if we purchase the light and are not happy with it.
Like all the products we sell. If you not happy with the light notify us within 15 days for a full refund upon return of the light within 30 days.



How did we come up with the name HotSpot?
That was easy. Some special people have a very special dog by the name of SMOKIN HOTSPOT. During a conversation discussing this light it was asked if they would mind us calling our light the "Boss HotSpot". Jarrod said it sounded like a good idea to him!!

Triple K is correct. The spot and HALO has been determined by the design of the reflector. The adjustments you make are on the 5 position switch from low to high.

To sum up some of the questions so far.
This Light is a Single White LED. It comes with Pop Cover that has four colored lens.
The light has a 5 position switch that starts off on the 1 position with a very low light and goes up to position 5 that is as bright as any coon hunting light being built today.
The beam size is not a small pencil spot with darkness all around it. When you search a tree you have concentrated light where your pointing the light and a dimmer light from the HALO covering the rest of the tree. The HALO is also important when your walking so you can see what your fixing to trip over. If your standing straight up and looking straight ahead it cast a HALO that starts about 3 to 4 feet in front of you. If your head has any downward angle to it the HALO is at your feet.
ONE IMPORTANT FEATURE. This light does not just turn off when the battery is low. If you forget to charge it you want be walking along and then with no warning go from a bright light to complete darkness. It will notice it dimming down and you will realize you need to charge your light and you will have plenty of time to get out of the woods. Since we started building lights we have made improvements as technology allows. This is one improvement that is important. On the Burn Time I stated 4 hours on high. I have one here I have cycled three times during the last three days and it went 4 hours then started to dim and at at 5 hours was still giving off enough light to get out of the woods. For your Safety we are saying 4 hours.
At the present time we are offering this light in a Cap Light Model. Either a Black Bump or Soft Cap with shell liner. Within in 10 days we will be shipping it with our small battery box.

It is in line with what our other cap lights. It weighs right at 18 oz. We have looked hard at the weight and size of the head and worked on reducing it. Some people can wear a hardhat and some can't. That is totally understandable. For those that can a few ounces to maintain quality will not make a difference. We offer it on two hats. Black Bump Cap with is my favorite. Why, first I think my big head just fits in there better. From there you only have the suspension around and x'ed across the top of your head with some room for air movement. The Soft Cap with liner perhaps looks better but I am done with looking good. When I wear it, it just feels to confining. With that said Kevin is a battery box man with chest strap. He doesn't like to wear Cap Lights. So everyone can have what works for them.

Where we could cut a few ounces and why we do things the way we do.
We have a metal bracket on the cap that holds the battery box. This bracket keeps the battery box from riding on the back of your neck which I can't stand.
We went with a different head that is 1 oz lighter but has more area inside. We feel the air space inside is an important part of heat transfer which helps keep everything cool. We decided going with a smaller head, right or wrong would go against some of the things we believe need to be there. Someday that may change as the development of LED's change.
Understanding that some don't like to wear Caps is exactly why we are going to offer different combinations of light packages. One is a Box light with head that can be put on any type cap (bump, soft cap or soft cap /liner) or chest strap.

I guess but it looks like Bruce is saying lets line them up I'm coming to a city near you. Got mine today brightest thing I have seen yet, with longer burn times then some of if not all the single LEDs at the top of the brightness level.

Whats Up I can understand your point completely. Thing is I think most people understand Horsepower a little bit better that LUX and LUMENS.
You tell me you have a 1,000 horsepower motor and it has a six cylinder 2 barrel carb, I can make my own judgement. Could be 1,000 hp buy I had better see a lot of add ons. lol

Guys on this board everyday are being told about 80,000 lux lights and buying them and then using them and then coming on the boards telling how their 80,000 lux light is great. They may have a very good light (never dispute that) with enough light to do what they want and if they never had an LED light it may be the brightest they have ever seen. It is just not 80,000 lux or the brightest out there.

But because someone decides to stretch the light to 80,000 lux the next guy with the same business practices with say 90,000 lux. We choose not to play that game and let our lights speak for themselves.

Here is another great example why we don't get caught up in the LUX game.

My warehouse next door is 100 Foot wide. I can back my my white supply trailer in the bay. When it gets dark I can stand 75' from the door which is right at 7' square. I can take one brand of light with high lux and shine it on the center of the door. What I see and can read is the writing in about a 12' circle and can't even tell if the trailer has a tag on it which is about 4' away on the bottom right corner. I take one of our lights and shine the door and I can not only see what's in the beam of the light which is about 2' but the HALO of the light allows me to see the entire door and not only see the tag but read it.

There is a lot more to these lights than just a LUX reading. Just like that dragster. Put the wrong tires on the dragster even if you have the highest HP and it goes nowhere!! Setup is the most important thing and that includes the overall package.

Bruce- Thank you for getting the new HotSpot out to me in a hurry I appreciate it! I took it out and did dog chores with it and man its the brightest light I've seen! It has a great halo and you can walk easily with it on the first click no problem.

Very awesome light and i plan on having this until you come out with something brighter lol, just kidding i will keep it until it quits very good light!

You could use it to find King Kong on the Empire state building, I'm sure it will work for coonhunting!
