Over the past 10 or so years, my daughter and I have raised some pups because we just enjoy fooling with them. Have sold several to bear hunters and they seem to have good success on bear with them. Primarily they are Swamp Rooster and Briar Creek breeding. Beside the obvious of Lightfoot breeding, what other breeding of English hounds has performed well on big game?

My sampling of the English breed is pretty small, but I own four 1/2 hardtime crosses and I've seen a few good straight hardtimes, one I breed to to get the dogs I have now and they got everything I need for bear.

For the responses, I'm looking at some females and one in paticuliar to breed and raise some pups. These local guys have been loyal on taking those pups off my hands due to they work for them, so I want to cross something that produces. Hardtime and Wildfire breeding on the female I feel I will like the best.
