shock collars?

I have 1 1/2 yr old dog that has decided to bump deer and coyote once in a while. She has no problem treeing a coon but on some of these cold snowy nights she has been doing a little partying on some deer and coyote. I currently have a sport dog 800 and its worked well for me up until the snow. It seems to get clogged up with snow and im not able to get a response from the dog when i hit her with the heat or tone her over 100 yds.

Whats everyone else useing and having good results in heavy snow? An aplha is not an option right now ive got to much money wrapped up in dc 40 and 50's right now to start all over.
