As we all know UKC is allowing clubs to give away money for cast wins and Calcutta's. My question to you does anybody have any good ideas on Calcutta's? Has anybody been to a club that has done this and if so please let me know their formula?

They do it quite often at some of the bigger $kc hunts if they don't just do a jackpot . It's just an auction on all the dogs at the hunt . Find someone who can auctioneer and someone to make a list of all dogs & write down the person with the highest bid by that dogs name . Start bidding anyone can bid on anyones dog - for calcuttas you don't even have to be hunting to bid anyone can . All proceeds go into pot & are split between final 4 . For ukc you would have to decide ahead of time if proceeds would be split between high scoring open & high scoring nitech or exactly how it would work . If the dog you bid on & won bid gets the win you get the cash . Quite often I get out bid on on my own dog , sometimes 2 individuals go in together to bid on one dog & split the cash if the dog they bid one wins . In a calcutta usually all dogs are purchased even if it's only for a dollar. Some hunts start the bidding out at 10 or 20 some less . On a bigger UKC hunt you could even do a split between the top 2 in open & top 2 in nitech ..I'm not sure how to figure the grand nites if there was actually a cast money could be split 3 ways between winner in each division or you could do winner take all with high scoring dog (wouldn't send anyone out alone lol) . Calcuttas and jackpots are always 100% payouts none of it is for the clubs .
