A group of climate change scientists attempting to prove man-made global warming were rescued Thursday from a ship stuck in ice in the Antarctic. But Newsbusters’ Mike Ciandella said that nearly 98 percent of reports from the so-called “mainstream media” failed to mention the ship is on a mission to find evidence of global warming.

“Forty out of 41 stories (97.5 percent) on the network morning and evening news shows since Dec. 25 failed to mention climate change had anything to do with the expedition,” he said.

Instead of referring to those stranded as researchers, the media simply called them “passengers,” “trackers” and “tourists.”

The leader of the expedition, Ciandella said, is Chris Turney, a professor of climate change at the University of South Wales.

According to his personal website, the purpose of the expedition is to “discover and communicate the environmental changes taking place in the south.”

Turney, admitted being “stuck in our own experiment,” but maintains that sea ice is melting, despite being stuck in ice nearly 10 feet thick.

“Sea ice is disappearing due to climate change, but here ice is building up,” expedition leaders said in a statement.

It aught to freeze some of it back this week. Calling for some of the coldest weather that's been here since the early 80s. I dread it. We ain't use to - numbers for windchills. Plus I work around water all day and that's not gonna be good.

I heard mention that they were stuck from a large ice breaker that broke loose due to warm weather. I don't believe a word of it...

GA DAWG - You better get ready, the cold just crossed the Ohio river heading south ! Browser showed 43 degrees an hour ago, now showing 27 degrees claim it should be 1 degree by midnight. I'm just glad it stopped raining just ahead of the front myself !

Weather Bureau says -31 here tonite with wind chills of -50.
We had had quite a few actual temps. of between -20 and -30 in Dec., but didn't have the winds with it. Really tough on all wild life. Going to be a LONG winter. Dogs in the shed with insulated dog houses full of straw, heated water buckets.

Cold ,Cold, Cold here in what is supposed to be SOUTHwest Mo lol ...got more snow last night & now sub-zero temps tonight .
These global warming idiots were re-tracing a voyage taken 100 yrs ago by a guy who made it through without getting stuck in the ice ... ironic isn't it lol . From my understanding of their retoric now our cow populations & their farts are one of the main reasons for so called "global warming" . Wasn't this country once covered with millions of buffalo ? Wouldn't those buffulo had put off more methane gas than our cattle population . These people won't be happy until we are all vegetarians riding our bicyles or walking to ourgov't appointed job from the commune . I'm not sure how they are gonna keep us warm . Won't be able to cut & burn wood , coals out of the question & natural gas requires drilling so that's out , electric ...we all use to much of that . Al Gore & his cronies need to move to the mid-west for a winter . I think they all vacation in the Caribean all winter .

if there wasn't a "small amount" of global warming.....the earth would still be covered in glaciers!!!

Last I remember reading the core temp had dropped 2 tenths. Also if my memory serves me correct people thought at the end of the 1800's beginning of the 1900's that an Ice Age was coming because it was getting colder and colder.
