Gary, have you contacted any of the dog transportation companies ? I know they cost money, but if there is no other way to get the dog to Michigan.......they might be an option.

I used a dog transport company a few years ago, to take a small dog to New Jersey. It cost $235 total, & I split the cost with the buyer. I met the driver at an exit next to I-75, gave him the dog, & she was in her new home by the next afternoon. The buyer called me that evening to tell me how happy she was with the dog, & at that time, I quizzed her on the condition of the dog, the interior of the crate, bedding, etc. Everything was clean & there were no problems, so the driver must have done his job well.

Also - here on the UKC message boards, under the "Free Classifieds" area (just scroll down under the forums) there is one specifically for DOG TRANSPORT.

Good Luck - you should be able to find some way to get the dog back here to Michigan...

Deb
