Rossie 223 Rifle

HAVE A SINGLE SHOT THAT'S MISFIRING ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM....I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT BRANDS OF SHELLS....

maybe the firing pin isn't hitting hard enough could be a weak spring don't sound like it's the shells jmo

I f you break it down ,try putting one finger over the hole where the firing pin comes out ,then cock the hammer and squeeze the trigger . You should be able to feel the firing pin strike your finger pretty sharply . Try it a few times to see if it is striking your finger each time. You may need to squirt some WD40 down that little hole then blow it out with some compressed air to get any fouling crud out . tell us if that works and you might have to have a gunsmith look into your problem .

tryed this 2 times seems to be hitting my finger pretty hard gun should fire,just bought a box of winchester shells going to try them in a day or so to see if they fire any better,been using wolf and remington match shells,what kinda shells do uall use.

Could be a weak pin spring, could be dirty, could be a head space problem. After it misfires inspect the shell, should be a nice crisp dent at the rim, if there is you might just have some junk ammo.

i have used remmington ammo for yrs never had a misfire ive had shotguns shells for as long as 5 yrs never had a problem with them

I TRIED THE WINCHESTER SHELLS 2 TIMES AND IT FIRED BOTH TIMES,MUST BE THE OFF BRAND SHELLS NOT FIRING.

HILLBILLY 56- THE SHELLS WERE NOT THE ORIGINAL REMINGTON BUT WERE REMINGTON MATCH SHELLS A CHEAPER OFFBRAND SHELL.....

i looked at all the wamarts this week for remington 30/30 shells they didn't have 1 box of any brand for a 30/30 i went to a guy i know that has a gun shop he said he can't even get remington ammo he had 1 box of shells says hsm police ammunation on the box im gonna try them monday might have to get my 7 mag out but that dang thing hurts this ole man anymore i hate to shoot it lol glad ya got your gun to shootin
